For such a small island, Nantucket boasts an incredible array of great restaurants in terms of quality and quantity. That being said, plan ahead and make reservations especially during busy times. While we return to our favorite spots year after year, each spring we anticipate the newcomers on the culinary scene. Trying new restaurants on Nantucket is as much a part of Spring as daffodils and fog.
Below is a list of new spots we are looking forward to trying out.
Pizzeria Gemelle- opening this summer on India St. in Sushi By Yoshi’s spot. Ventuno is opening this pizzeria with a family friendly menu, house-made pizzas, gelato, and a selection of sliced meats. They’ll be open 7 days a week for lunch, dinner and late night snacks.
Via Mare - Ventuno is also taking over the dining space at the Greydon House where they’ll be serving Venetian style small plate selections.
Or, The Whale - a new bistro has opened on Main St. They will serve American fare; brunch, light bites, and dinner daily. There’s a bar open daily for grab and go coffee, house-made donuts and other treats will be available from their to-go counter.
Nantucket Poke - a new food truck at Nobadeer and Cisco Beach this summer serving up traditional Hawaiian Poke bowls.
Fog Island - is now mid-island with their sister restaurant, Keepers.
ACK Eats App: also new this year is a delivery service aptly titled ACK Eats. They are delivering food from many local restaurants (and even food trucks) so be sure to go to www.ackeats.com for more info.
