The Nantucket Christmas Stroll, now in its 50th year, is a cherished holiday tradition transforming the island into a winter wonderland filled with festive cheer, unique shopping opportunities, and community events. This year, the event takes place from Friday, December 6, through Sunday, December 8, 2024, with highlights scheduled throughout the weekend. Event Highlights
Dusk, November 29, Annual Christmas Tree Lighting: The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will be held the evening of November 29th at dusk.
November 30 – December 5: Trees will be decorated by businesses and community members, including island students.
Saturday, December 7
Stroll Marketplace: From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, enjoy the open-air marketplace at 9 Salem Street featuring local crafts, artisan goods, and gourmet treats. Entry is free.
Santa’s Arrival: Santa Claus makes his arrival at 12:00 PM at Straight Wharf, followed by a parade through downtown up Main Street to the Pacific National Bank where he will be until 2:30.
Victorian Carolers: Immerse yourself in nostalgia with carolers performing along Main Street.
Festival of Trees: Visit the Nantucket Whaling Museum to see dazzling Christmas tree displays decorated by community members.
Throughout the Weekend
Storefront Displays and Shopping: Explore Main Street’s beautifully decorated shops for unique gifts and seasonal sales.
Pop-Up Markets: Additional fairs and markets around the island, including the Yuletide Fair and events at St. Paul’s Church, provide more options for holiday shopping.
Special Performances: Enjoy holiday-themed concerts, musicals, and theater performances tailored to the season.
