The Steamship Authority has announced their opening dates for summer auto reservations. Beginning Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 8:00 a.m to February 3, 2025, reservations for travel with an automobile to Nantucket from May 13, 2025, through October 21, 2025 may be made via the internet.

Online Reservations Only:
Summer vehicle reservations cannot be made by phone during the online opening period. However, the SSA Reservation Office will be available daily from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM to assist with login credentials, such as passwords or PINs.
- For assistance, please call our Reservation Line at 508-477-8600.
- Customers are encouraged to log in to their accounts ahead of time to ensure they are prepared for opening day.
Virtual Waiting Room:
To enhance your reservation experience, the Steamship Authority will utilize a virtual waiting room during the opening period.
This system will:
- Display your “place” in line and approximate wait time.
- Eliminate the need for refreshing your browser repeatedly.

- Before opening day, go to www.steamshipauthority.com and be sure you can access your account.
- If you do not know your account number and PIN, or your username and password, call (508) 477-8600 for assistance or visit www.steamshipauthority.com/about/faqs.
Mail In Reservations
In the past online reservations on opening day can be difficult. An easier, less frustrating alternative is mailing in your reservation. You can mail reservations at any time and they are processed in the order that they are received beginning January, 28 2025 (up to five one-way or round-trip reservations will be accepted per mailing).
